Celtic Connection receives the music laboratory program "NeXo" that connects artists from Argentina, Galicia, Scotland, Uruguay and Wales.

A project delivered by British Council , Wales Arts International and Xunta de Galicia with the support of Creative Scotland and SGAE .

Created and produced by JAUĀ® www.nexocultura.org

NeXo is an international creative program which uses cultural interaction as a springboard to create music around the connections and conversations shared between the traditions and musical languages from different roots.

What is NeXo?

In 4 days, 9 musicians from 5 nations shared a unique tour de force in a facilitated residency in B uenos Aires, Argentina, w here they developed a shared repertoire that contains the musical identities of both continents.

From 28 th November to 1 st December 2015, NeXo’s musicians jointly created a repertoire arising from a dialogue between the various musical languages that each one brings as part of their cultural and artistic heritage.

The project musically was designed and facilitated by three international leaders in their fields (who have also curated the mix of artists): Fernando Isella (Latin America), Romulo Sanjurjo (Galicia) and Donald Shaw (UK).

The result of this work is now presented at Celtic Connections on:

21 January 2016. 20.00
