Roy Campbell-Moore, National Dance Company Wales’ Artistic Associate and Founding Artistic Director, and Phil Williams, Company choreographer, have just returned from India where they have been working with Stem Dance Company in Bangalore.

They led a two week Summer School for young people, creating a new show for them based on the theme of Scheherezade. Roy Campbell-Moore said the project has a been a great success:

"National Dance Company Wales has been running successful Summer School projects for many years now at the New Theatre in Cardiff, so to be able to pass that knowledge on to young dancers in India has been a wonderful experience. The Indian dancers were enthusiastic and talented and Phil and I were in impressed with their achievements.

"We hope it will now become a regular project for Stem Dance and I know that National Dance Company Wales also hoped to build on these links, with Stem Dance touring Wales in the Autumn and National Dance Company Wales touring India in November."

National Dance Company Wales is a flagship international arts organisation led by Artistic Director, Ann Sholem, that performs commissions from leading international choreographers to audiences throughout Wales, the UK and overseas.
