'Blanc de Blanc' and 'La Recontre'
Following a very successful residency at Méduse, Québec City early in 2004, Catherine Lewis has since been developing links and contact with several individuals and organisations including Diagonale, Centre des arts et des fibres du Québec.
As a result, her productive period in Méduse enabled MaP, a group of Welsh textile artists, to exhibit at the month-long international 'Blanc de Blanc' exhibition arranged by Diagonale. The nine creators from Wales were; Philippa Lawrence, Stéphanie Tuckwell, Susan Shields, Mandy Nash, Claire Lisa Cawte, Susan Smith, Catherine Lewis, Alison Taylor and Kate Saunders.
'Blanc de Blanc' took place in November 2005 and celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Conseil des Arts Textiles du Québec.

Furthermore, in July 2006, MaP and Diagonale is taking part in a second collaborative exhibition 'La Recontre – Y Cyfarfod – The Meeting' at Craft in the Bay from 22 July until 10 September 2006. |

During the opening on Saturday 22nd July, illustrated talks took place by the artists who have undertaken Wales Arts International residencies at the Quebec City art centre Méduse; Catherine Lewis, Sian Lile and Jenny Savage.
Catherine Lewis states "Cardiff and Montreal bear historical and political similarities, wich lead to the idea of linking artists from Québec and Wales. The common use of fibres and textiles techniques in contemporary practice have brought these artists to present works dealing with variations on the theme of meeting".
