Iwan Llwyd
Iwan Llwyd (1957-) was brought up in Tal-y-bont, Conwy, and now lives in Tal-y-bont, Bangor. After graduating from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth with an MA in medieval poetry, he worked for a public relations company before becoming self-employed. He performs his poetry widely, both in Wales and abroad, and also tours with the group Steve Eaves a’i Driawd, much influenced by blues and jazz, for which he plays bass guitar. In 1990, he was awarded the Crown at the National Eisteddfod – one of Wales’s most important poetry prizes, awarded for a long poem in the free metres.
