Rozanne Hawksley

Having once trained in fashion and textile design, Rozanne has worked in mixed media for many years, preferring the freedom of expression that this broad approach to mediums allows. Rozanne's work deals with themes of isolation and suffering due to war, sickness, poverty and death and, increasingly, the mis-use of power. The pieces that have reference to death are often highly ornate, using symbolism and allegory. The dedicated attention to detail is apparent in all Rozanne's work. As well as having exhibited work widely throughout the UK, Japan and Poland, Rozanne has also practiced and lectured in America. Her work is in many major private and public collections, including the Imperial War Museum, London and is shown in many exhibitions including the seminal 'The Subversive Stitch.'

Rozanne will also present a lecture at SOFA, entitled, 'Vision in Stitch.' This is a unique opportunity to see her work and attend her lecture.
