Research & Development Trip - Wroclaw 2013

Brychan Tudor, creative director for CAAPO, was invited to speak at the Mediation in Arts conference at the Eugeinsz Geppert Academy of Art. Brychan used the opportunity whilst at the event to look into the creative producers from an area of Europe CAAPO had not yet worked in.

Brychan Tudor, "The support of Wales Arts International (WAI) enabled me (Brychan Tudor – CAAPO Creative Director) to travel to Wroclaw (Poland) on behalf of CAAPO. During my stay there, I took part in a 2-day conference on ‘Mediation in Art’ at the Eugeinsz Geppert Academy of Art.

I was invited to speak at this conference, where I delivered a lecture and a paper (which will be published alongside the other papers from the conference) titled ‘CAAPO – A Device for Creative Mediation: Creating an Audience’. This proved to be a wonderful opportunity to open dialogue with curators, artists, academics, students and the media from all over Europe: To introduce CAAPO to a whole new audience; informing them of who we are, what we do and what we’re about.

Whilst this was a terrific marketing opportunity for CAAPO, it was also a brilliant chance to research a range of creative producers from an area of Europe that we are yet to work in. There was a large contingency of gallerists, arts educators, curators and artists from Leipzig. This is not a city that any of the CAAPO team has visited before. We now have a range of invitations to visit Leipzig and construct new projects. This is something that we will be following up and acting upon once our current (proposed) International project in Italy is complete."
