Poetry reading and interview in Paris

Tony Curtis received a grant to support his trip to Paris in March 2014 to deliver a poetry reading, to be interviewed by the Paris Lit Up Magazine, to meet with translators for his work and to research locations for the development of a new work.

Tony Curtis, "I am grateful to WAI for helping me complete the visit to Paris and Meudon last week.

I gave a poetry reading in the Belleville district for the Paris Lit Up Magazine event. This was attended by around forty people.

I completed a recorded interview with editor Kate Noakes and this should appear in the next issue of the magazine.

I spoke with fellow editor Helen Cusack O’Keefe concerning the possibilities of further translations – but this needs to be explored further.

I visited the small suburban township of Meudon as part of my ongoing research into Gwen John.

I visited exhibitions at Musee Mamonatt Monet, Gare D’Orsay, a First World War executions exhibition at the Hotel de Ville and Centre Pompidou, where they has a David Nash drawing in a private collection exhibition. I have worked with and written about this Blaenau Ffestiniog-based artist and shall report back to him about the hang."
