Muscat International Folklore and Handicrafts Festival 2014

Kim Colquhoun was funded to attend Muscat International Festival in Oman 6-23 February 2014.

Kim said, "I was invited to take part in the Muscat International Festival 2014, a month long cultural and artistic celebration held annually in the capital of Oman. I participated as a representative of the UK for the second part of the festival from the 6th to the 23rd of February, as a part of their International festival of Crafts and Art. This was organised by Mr Bosko Gajic and Dr Narine Grigoryan of the International Folklore Development Association (IDFA) on behalf of the Sultanate of Oman. They offered a comprehensive in-kind package that included the cost of 3* full board accommodation, exhibition space, daily transport between the hotel and venue as well as transfers to and from the airport and visas. Wales Arts International enabled me with assistance with the cost of the flight and shipping my work to Oman without this support I would not have been able to take advantage of such a fantastic opportunity to develop my practice."
